SUMMARY:eDiscovery at a Crossroads Conference
DESCRIPTION:Despite five sets of Rule 26 amendments over four decades\, eDi
scovery costs and risks continue to rise. To address this issue\, a group
of more than 50 practitioners\, eDiscovery experts\, and federal judges\,
have spent countless hours over the past three years drafting new guidelin
es for discovery scoping and proportionality\, and debating new approaches
throughout the discovery lifecycle.\n\nIn 2021\, the Discovery Proportion
ality Model: A New Framework was successfully introduced at a bench-bar co
nference. Since that time\, the group has developed further guidance and e
xpanded its work beyond the initial concepts\, including consideration of
proposing new amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. On April
13-14\, a second bench-bar conference will be held to discuss these proje
cts.\n\nCo-hosted by the Rabiej Litigation Law Center and the George Washi
